Marlborough Weekly is a community newspaper published by Marlborough Media.

The Weekly is a true local paper, owned locally, reporting on exclusively local stories and passionate about the region it serves.

The paper was founded in 2019 due to a need for a local paper to cover the region comprehensively and with strong journalist integrity. The Weekly covers community news, hard news, sport and more.

Delivered to 19,000 homes and businesses in Marlborough, the Weekly is the region’s best all-round paper – reaching every home and with great content.

Marlborough Media also publishes Marlborough Magazine and Marlborough App.

Summa MacDonald
Director/sales manager
Summa lives with her husband Neil and their three children in Seddon. She worked in media for more than a decade before buying this&that magazine in 2015. Since then she has rebranded the magazine, expanded the company with the addition of the Marlborough App and Marlborough Weekly. Summa leads the company’s sales team, edits the magazine and is a director and co-owner of the company.
Andrew Board
Managing Director
Andrew is an award-winning journalist and, along with his wife Sarah, is the owner of the Nelson Weekly newspaper, which has won numerous business and journalism awards since it was founded in 2010. Andrew is the managing director and co-owner of Marlborough Media, he also acts as the company’s publisher.
Rosa Tate
Media Consultant
Rosa, now a New Zealand citizen, has lived in Marlborough since 2002 with her husband Bob and two daughters Zoe and Tess. She has worked within sales for many years and specifically media for the past four years. With her clients best interest at heart, she has won many national sales competitions and been away on many award-winning overseas sales trips. Marlborough Media is the perfect fit for Rosa. “Being part of a fun, hard-working team that are all locals that care about locals … it couldn’t get any better!”
Rachael Hughes
Media consultant
Born and bred in Marlborough, Rachael is passionate about all things marketing. With an eye for detail and her creative flair, she knows how to get businesses results. Having completed a Bachelor of Commerce with a marketing major in 2018 she has the skills and know-how to provide clients with media solutions tailored to their individual wants and needs.
Paula Hulburt
Editor
Paula has worked as journalist and in public relations for 23 years, here in New Zealand and in the UK. Originally from Hastings, she has lived in Marlborough for 11 years with her family and considers Blenheim home. When she’s not attached to a keyboard she’s kept on her toes as a mum to two and doing her bit to support the Marlborough wine industry, one glass at a time.
Peter Jones
Sports journalist
Peter has been fully immersed in the Marlborough sports scene since 1985, when he began work as sports editor at the Marlborough Express. Over the ensuing three decades he has been at the heart of “local” sports coverage in the written media, operating closely with the people, clubs and organisations that are the foundation of sport in this region. Since he left the Express in 2017 he has continued to serve the sporting community through the Marlborough App and the Marlborough Weekly.
Matt Brown
Journalist
Matt is born, raised and lives in Blenheim with his partner Jenner and son Howie.
He has been in the media industry for several years, first in production and recently editorial.
Matt loves a good yarn and snapping photos on his ancient Nikon D200.
Sara Revell
Administration
Sara lives here in Blenheim with her partner and 2 children. She is new to media but has been working in reception for almost 5 years. Sara has organisation skills next to none and a fantastic attention to detail.
